Innovator's Mindset Book Study Our county did a book study this year with the book The Innovator's Mindset by George Couros. This was an amazing read! The book study allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and learn new technology programs and applications. The book study allowed me to reflect on my own practices and find out what I am strong in and where I need to improve. I really enjoyed the tools we learned about from our leaders, and I loved being able to interact with colleagues online. This was very convenient!

This book gave real life scenarios of how to deal with those must have, but hard, conversations. It gave good ideas for interacting with colleagues who are hard to converse with. My principal, Mr. Carson, was able to accompany me to an NCDLCN session and listened in as we discussed the book.
Google Certified Educator Level I I was so excited to get this first level of certification for Google Educator. I hope that I am able to use what I already know to support teachers who struggle with technology, especially Google applications. My goal for the summer is to complete Level II.
NCSLMA I was very fortunate to get to attend the NCSLMA conference in Winston-Salem. I was able to learn more about STEM lessons with a literacy component, making sure your books are diverse and serve the needs of everyone, and how to find grants to help supply your library with its "needs and "wants."
NCTIES I was super excited to do a playground session at NCTIES. A fellow friend and librarian, Jessica Mace, and I showed how to use Snapcircuits and Learn and Go Coding mice. I was able to attend many helpful sessions at NCTIES that will allow to me to further support my colleagues when it comes to integrating technology. I got great ideas for new applications and programs to use, as well as how to reinvent the media center and make it more student-centered.
